It's nice to be able to escape the "Media Circus" when something bad happens.
Of course, to truly achieve this, I need to also avoid CNN.com a bit more than I usually do.
I'm sure that in 1 week, no one will want to hear the name "Virginia Tech" ever again. Even with a serious tragedy (e.g. 9/11) the media has the uncanny skill of making people sick to death of it. They just don't know when (or how!) to stop.
I guess whatever sells newspapers (or gets people to watch the tube) is good for their advertising revenue.
