General sub-forum is for things that don't fit elsewhere

  • It is not for posts you think "everyone needs to see, even those who claim they don't care about this topic". It is only for posts that don't fit perfectly into one of the other sub-fora. If your post is half "anti-conspiracy" and half "Church crisis-related", then post it in one of those two.

Anything political or Obama-related needs to go in the "Politics and world leaders" sub-forum. If you think no one will read it there, maybe you're right. But those who don't visit that forum don't want to read about the two-party system or Obama.
    We must respect their wishes.

Yes, I'm sure that if you put a classified ad for a used car on the front page of the newspaper, I'm sure it would have above-average visibility.

But such a paper would be so poorly organized that it would rapidly lose readers.

Trust me -- people can find your post in the appropriate sub-forum just as easily as "general discussion". Especially since we've had the "new posts" feature for 18 months now.
