Hello,
How are you spending New Year's Eve? With family and friends? At a party? Watching the ball drop?  :ready-to-eat:
I usually wait for the ball drop, then go to sleep, haha.

Any New Year's Resolutions?  :jumping2:
I strive to avoid dairy and sugar, and to perform more acts of Penance.

What about you? :)

  • I will see sleep the new year in. Have done so for years.

  • I have to get up at 5:30 am in order to get to Mass, so I will turn in to bed around 10:00 pm tonight.

I will do the same thing on the 31st to New Year's Day.

  • Considering that New Year’s Eve is Sunday, and Jan 1 a Holyday, and with three kids under three and a long drive to Mass, I will be going to bed early.  :laugh1:

And my wife is Dutch, so the Dutch New Year’s tradition is olliebollen! Lekker!

  •  :sleep:No plans at all.  Just a regular Monday.  Will try to slip in restroom at work long enough to read the prayers and gospel for Mass.  If not, will do it before bedtime tomorrow.

  • I have been celebrating for the Christmas season after doing penance for Advent. Tonight I drank two glasses of wine and feasted but I do not think I will stay up past midnight. I will be celebrating until epiphany. Then I plan on going back to normal and living more simply.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • .
I have a friend who is all Novus Ordo (Steubenville grad) who asked me what my plans are for New Year's Day.
    .
I told him I'm going to stay close to home and on Monday morning, I'll go to Mass.
    .
He said, "Oh, right, that's the Feast of the Mother of God."
    .
I told him we use the old calendar, and it's the Feast of the Circuмcision of Our Lord.
    .
He had never heard of that.

    "Oh, right"??
Isn't it a holy day of obligation for him in the Novus Ordo, too??

Well, yes, technically, but Novus Ordo makes any and all excuses for Holy Days  :laugh1:. Going to Mass more then once a week is just too difficult.
