  • We've had a couple individuals shooting off their mouth, crossing the line from speculation into rash judgment, rumor-starting, and even slander.

I will not tolerate such behavior, even if you're a die-hard supporter of the Resistance. Repeat violations will result in consequences, up to and including a permanent ban from CathInfo.

The Resistance doesn't need supporters like that. On the contrary! They do the most harm to the cause.

I invite everyone -- including you guests reading this (even those who are against the Resistance for whatever reason) -- to send me an e-mail (news at cathinfo.com) with a link to any posts you think violate these rules.

CathInfo takes rumors and slander very seriously. Everyone -- friend and foe -- will be forced to attest to my sincerity in this regard.

NOTE: Sometimes a post or allegation will be in a "grey area". In fact, this happens quite often. How do I know if something is a lie, or an expose'? One man's whistleblowing is another man's "slander and lies". I can only use my best judgement in these cases.

  • .

I was starting to think, "Why doesn't he give a list of some examples so we can be sure we'll know what he's talking about?"  Then I realized that would be breaking his own rule.  Catch 22?

Okay, how about a 'grey area' example?  Grey area catch 22?

The word love, among countless other words, has been given a modern interpretation.  Non-Catholic culture confuses love with some kind of feeling or emotion, which is why so many people think it's so hard to love their neighbor.  As you probably know, all that's demanded is that we wish them well, do good to them as much as possible, and do no unnecessary harm.  The word charity has also been abused.  No right-thinking person enjoys receiving charity in the form that it's usually administered these days i.e. handouts.

Hmmm, I understand what you are saying in terms of the modern misuse of words, but I believe that it was St. Thomas Aquinas who stated that charity is not love. I remember reading it, but I don't have the exact reference. Due to all the whirling around of the word charity on this forum, I have decided to research the topic, in detail.  I've just got to get one project out of the way, first. Plus, all my books are packed away, at the moment.

My pet peeve on here (not that anyone asked, of course!) is people bringing up past posts, and / or other peoples' weaknesses as a weapon against them in an unrelated thread.

I FREQUENTLY refer to past posts.  I do not apologize for doing so.  It puts in perspective who they are, their general framework of reasoning, their sense of Catholicism, etc.  To say that "past posts" & "weaknesses" should be ignored is just a little too mushy & politically correct for my taste.

I agree, especially since people ridicule me for having a disability, and use it to justify bullying and abuse. Those who do so are not Catholic, no matter how much doctrine they have off by heart, no matter how many times they go to mass, no matter how much posts they have, it is all in vain, if they have not love of neibhour.

Show me ONE post where I or anyone has "ridiculed" you for having a "disability."

I "ridicule" some of your musings, and that's all I've seen anybody else do.  Do you think you can spew a bunch of nonsense & be exempt from reality because you claim to have a "disability?"

  • What an ironic thread this is shaping up to be.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • All right, ENOUGH!

This is totally off topic, and a waste of bandwidth.

And if anyone clicks on this thread and reads through all the responses, that's 5 minutes they'll never get back -- times however many people do this. That's a lot of wasted time!

In fact, I'm going to trim this thread because I don't appreciate people hijacking my thread with a bunch of bickering.

Matthew's warning about these men (the Dimond brothers), is truthful and prudent.  Many souls are being harmed by the false teachings that they present as Catholic truth, and Catholics must avoid them.  This is not calumny or detraction, as they are very public about their positions, and are actively trying to convince Catholics to deny truths of their Faith.

Some examples of their public doctrinal crimes:

    1.  A denial of Baptism of Desire
    2.  A denial of Baptism of Blood
    3.  A denial of Pope Pius XII's teaching on a moral matter.

The list can go on, and there are many subdivisions to the above.

I have personally witnessed the harm that has come from these men IRL and the online world.  The fact is that these men could do so much good, if they stopped what they are doing, spent time relearning their Faith, and then attemp to fix the damage that they have done.

  • Calling the Dimond brothers "misguided souls" is the polite, charitable version.

Those who are "pro-Dimond brothers" are not welcome on CathInfo. I've said that before.

Even though I don't ban them immediately, they usually get themselves banned.

I am not pro-Dimond brothers but I am not against them either. I owe them a great debt because they opened my eyes to the errors of Vatican II. I discovered tradition through the internet and their site was my introduction to traditional Catholicism. Now I don't agree with all that they say but I still look at their website to see what they are up to.

What is interesting is that in the court docuмent dated June 22, 2012 and from the Dimonds own website Docuмent_106_decision_and_order_6_22_12
it is clear that MHFM is not a benedictine monastary, the founder Natale was not a benedictine monk, and the dimonds are not monks.

    On p. 12
    Quote
“In opposition to the motion for summary judgment, plaintiff has submitted an e-mail message from Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B., the Archabbot of St. Vincent's Archabbey (Item 97, Exh. A). Mr. Nowicki stated that, according to his records, Joseph Natale "came to Saint Vincent as a candidate for the lay brotherhood on July 5, 1960. He remained for several months as a postulant but he did not receive vows as a Benedictine monk." Id. Mr. Nowicki further stated that Mr. Natale does not appear in the directory of members of the Benedictine communities and that MHFM does not appear in the directory of approved Catholic organizations.

Yet the Dimonds hold that the final judgment "is a clear, stunning confirmation from Heaven (particularly for other people to see) that we are indeed Benedictines and true members of the Order of St. Benedict."

The same for my husband (and I guess indirectly for myself).  I guess what is needed is a similar force that does things a bit more charitably.
