  • I suppose there's a bit of confusion on this topic.

Some people might think that every post that survives here has my implicit support -- but that is not the case.

I simply don't have my finger on the "moderate" button like virtually every other web-based forum I've ever visited (why do you think I started my own?)

I am an old man when it comes to the Internet -- I am nostalgic for the Usenet forums of the late 90's -- they were like forums, only with no membership and no moderation!  Those were the good old days.

I'd like to think of Cathinfo as

    alt.religion.catholic.traditional

    for the 21st century

  • Word of advice...  Push the imitation of Christ.  I think people might be a little confused/ignorant of what that entails.  And when you get right down to it, it was lack of the imitation of Christ that put FE and AQ on the naughty list.  Just a suggestion.

  • Point taken; I modified my original text.

There are 2 ways I could have modified it though -- the way I did, or I could have said "...like every other POPULAR web-based forum..."

No offense of course, but Ignis Ardens is not exactly a well-known board. It is logical that smaller boards would have to be "less picky" about what they allow, or they'd have no posts (or posters!)

Running a small-to-medium sized board myself, I know the dynamics pretty well.

  • Another reason why I like this forum - much friendlier atmosphere - I don't have to fight everyone on the forum just to post Traditional Catholicism - UNLIKE some other forums that I have membership in.

What I love about this forum:
I don't have to debate everyone here,
It's not a one-man show [by which some members are censored and attacked based on their perspective constantly].
    It's Traditional Catholic.
It's not hostile to other groups of traditionalists.
It is the epitomy of free speech.
The mods are not Mod-happy [by which I mean certain moderators who "moderate" everything to the point that there is no significance in even bothering to discuss anything].
Not a whole huge list of forbidden topics, for if one cannot discuss religion, there is not a whole lot left to discuss, to use some from Chesterton that it is one of the only things worth really discussing.
