  • If anyone is interested, you can get a free $2 credit to the Amazon MP3 store with the coupon code CLOUDMP3. Apply the credit to your account here. Many single MP3s are just 99 cents. Only a few days to use it though. It expires June 30.

Come back and tell me what you bought so that I can save my time and not have to shop for something.

  • The last time they gave free credit, I "bought" Pie Jesu and Panis Angelicus by Jackie Evancho.

They're still good tracks, but I went just now to see if she had recorded more just to find that her new album has the protestant version of the Lord's Prayer. I thought she was Catholic and had hopes for some more pretty music.

  • The price is right for Mozart.

But I'll give it a day in case anyone here finds me something more interesting.  :guitar:

  • The aria "Sol da te mio dolce amore" from Vivaldi's opera Orlando furioso is a must hear for all lovers of vocal music:

The Amazon sample doesn't get to the singing, but here is a very good recording:

(this video includes 2 recitatives that will not be in the Amazon MP3 unless purchased seperately)

  • Thanks, Vlad!

That performance was impressive, but not the sort of thing I'd enjoy listening to over and over, so I went with Mozart. : )

  • One composer that has unfairly been consigned to the dustbin of history (pretty much) is Silvius Leopold Weiss. You will not find more "easy listening" than his lute works.

    Chaconne in g minor

A rather beautiful reconstruction of the above piece (which is missing the flute part):

    Allemande in f# minor:
