  • Here's a supposed apparition of the Blessed Virgin appearing in Africa. What do you think?

  • Here's a video of a statue of Mary opening and closing her eyes.

To see photos of the statue, please go to the following website: http://www.slide.com/r/xwpXUQz16D_Qyhuf2fS96Pey4P5YmOcn?previous_view=mscd_em.... The following information is based on Porphyrygrampus' personal research. This is a video of the Addolorata, Our Lady of Sorrows, who has the end chapel on the right in Santa Maria Maggiore, Ispica SE Sicily. The video was taken by handicapped 24yr old Domenico Di Martino during the annual Procession of Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday of September 18, 1994, with his new TV video camera. Several other parishioners noticed the statue closing eyes during the procession. He was amazed by what he saw, showed it to the parish priest & finally there was a broadcast on Sicilian TV about it (this is an extract) & an article in the daily La Sicilia. Antonino cd be the autistic Mexican boy reported to have heard the Virgin speak to him saying she was closing her eyes so as not to see the sins of this world. The broadcast spoke about him, saying he had improved enormously.

  • I don't think people should be so concerned with apparitions here and there, and with oils or blood spewing out of statues. The devil can use these things to work against the Faith or as a distraction. There are plenty of Church approved apparitions (Fatima, Guadalupe, Lourdes, etc) which are relevant to our times that are Church approved and should be studied instead of wasting our time finding where the Blessed Mother is showing herself in the Sun. As if our Lady is that vain that she would show an image of herself somewhere without having a message for us (like at Fatima) that would deal with these most unfortunate times.

  • A person observing these things needs to ask themselves, what is the fruit of these occurrences? If it's anything less than an inspiration for those witnessing it to practice their faith or a substantial message (a call to penance etc.), I would say pay it no mind. If it's something that only got media attention and didn't seem to have any purpose (you have to speculate as to WHY it happened) then it should be forgotten.
