You may have heard of Pope Pius XXIII a Capuchin Named Carl Pulvermacher who became convinced he was pope.

Do you have ANY evidence to back your claim?

  • I am terribly sorry.  It was Lucien Pulvermacher who claimed to be Pope Pius XIII.  Fr Carl Pulvermacher would never have said such a thing.  I had them confused, and meant no disrespect to Fr. Pulvermacher, who, I have learned today, was quite beloved.

I do not know if there is a franciscan monestary affiliated with the SSPX. I do know there are Franciscan 3rd order in the sspx.

I also know there are Dominicans and Benedictines inside the SSPX.

You had my suspicions raised there for  a day.  :devil2: :laugh1:

They were actually 4 brothers, all 4 of whom were priests. Fr.Carl and Lucien were the 2 Traditional priests, their other two brothers were in the NO. I actually didnt know who the man behind the name of Pius XIII was before asking around Sunday, let alone know that he was related to Fr.Carl Pulvermacher. As for his mistaken affiliation with the SSPX, he had no so thing. Lucian did follow Fr.Carl over to the SSPX parish, but he left after being there less than a week. He wanted nothing to do with the SSPX.
