    • This turns my stomach.  Bergoglio fails to understand that it is not Jorge kissing those feet but that he's in effect forcing OUR LORD to kiss that infidel's feet ... since he's Christ's Vicar (even if only materially).  It's disgusting.

    • If Francis really wanted true peace query as to why he doesn't simply consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?  I wish that was a huge above the fold banner headline screaming across all of Rome's newspapers!  It could read: "DO YOU REALLY WANT PEACE FRANCIS?  CONSECRATE RUSSIA!"

    The Church is so spineless now that the fear of a couple articles condemning the act is enough to stop them from their mission. The ironic thing is, Russia would be the LEAST likely country to care. For all their faults, they aren't perpetually triggered snowflakes who'd fly into a rage over a few simple prayers said on their behalf. Non-Catholic Americans might screech about how it's presumptuous, but Russians wouldn't care.

    Donald Trump is the president of the United States. This is a country that does not have any formal relations with North Korea. No other president has felt the need to condescend to meet with the ruler of this country. In fact they have instructed their emissaries to act with deliberate coldness toward the North Korean emissaries when they do meet. As he left the Meeting President Trump said that his reason for arranging this meeting was in the interest of peace. His hope is that in the future no American soldier would have to die in a conflict on the Korean peninsula.
    Pope Francis was thinking something similar with respect to the South Sudan. His hope is that no one would have to die needlessly in a conflict on the South Sudan in a conflict fueled largely by the selfish interests of the leadership of this area.
