  • I'm trying to find out if Fr. Bitzer states publicly his views on Baptism of Desire/Blood and Salvation.

Hopefully a longtime OLP parishioner can chime in.

    Thanks.

I went to OLP most Sundays for about 3 years 2007-2010. He had excellent, solid Catholic sermons, but never even once mentioned anything about a BOD.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

  • I have several years' worth of sermons on tape from Fr. Bitzer, and I can't find any that pertain to this issue.

If it is so important to you to know, why don't you just call him up and ask?  What is it about traditional Catholics who never want to call priests and ask them directly what they say on a particular "hot button" issue?

  • I'm guessing Father Bitzer doesn't believe in (4)Baptisms, including the "implicit baptism" or "universal salvation" that Bp. Fellay has promoted.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • I don't know how to reach Father, and there seem to many on this forum that are acquainted with him.
