    He comes to our SSPX chapel at least a few times a year and I always look forward to his visits. I went to one of the Lenten Missions he gives and it was really excellent.

    • When he visited my chapel about 6 months ago, he gave a sermon in which he was mocking armchair bloggers and forums who think geocentrism v heliocentrism and/or flatearthism are theological issues.

    As I had not yet returned to CI I had no idea what he was talking about.

    6 months later, I get it. 

    And even though flatearthism is moronic, I was not particularly impressed with the sermon (contrary to what others here are reporting).

    Consider he's still subservient to Bp. Fellay's rule with all its VII compromises.

    But honestly, if he was independent, he could be assisting Father Hogan, running the St. Athanasius chapel.
    From the Bumb family's support base, he could have helped to restore his traditional Transalpine Redemptorists.

    We have to pray that Father will break free from the neo-SSPX sellout.

    I was sure, that for awhile he was assisting Fr. Hogan (after Fr. Alphonsus moved out of the Retreat House). But the Bumb Family has since given some or all control of their chapel to SSPX.  As for restoring the Redemptorists, I remember of some early talk years ago, but with Father's health it did not seem practical.

    You are very fortunate.  As far as I can remember he has only been in Phoenix once in the past ten years.
