    • Does anyone know anything about Fr. Alphonsus Maria Krutsinger C.SS.R? I see that he preaches missions at SSPX chapels. Is he with the N.O. Redemptorists, if not, is the SSPX affiliated with some traditional Redemptorists? Also, does anyone know about his ordination? Thanks in advance.

    He was with the traditional SSPX-affiliated Transalpine Redemptorists based on Orkney, in Scotland. The left the Redemptorists when they reconciled with Rome, and went to the SSPX. He preached at our SSPX chapel last summer (or maybe it was in the spring). Why do you ask?

    • I am surprised you don't know anything about him. 

    He was ordained by one of the SSPX bishops years ago and was a member of the Redemptorists in Papa Stronsay who have since made an agreement with their local bishop. Fr. Alphonsus left Papa Stronsay before they made an agreement.

    ...which is humorous, since Bishop Fellay also wants  deal with Rome, in which case, having left the Transalpine Redemptorists was a frivolous maneuver.

    He must have "got his mind right" since then.

    Where else could he have gone? There was no "Resistance" in 2007/2008. A sede church maybe?

    Yeah it doesn't make sense. But I think there were other issues as well.

    According to a Catholic Candles priest list, Bishop Fellay ordained him in 2000.

    • Unlike the aborted attempt to make his own Belgian Dominican order, Bp. Fellay could have salvaged the traditional Transalpine Redemptorists who had fled the sell-out at Papa Stronsay.  But he didn't.

    He could have kept them together and provided them support until a better time, but he didn't.

    Why didn't he support the Redemptorists, since they're such formidable evangelizers of the Faith?

    Was it because he didn't want to interfere with their leader's Conciliar Church deal?

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Bp. Fellay was truly protecting the Faith, he would have come to the aid of the traditional Redemptorists.

    • I met Fr. Alphonsus when he was stationed at the SSPX retreat house in Los Gatos CA. He left the Transalpine Redemptorists because of health issues, I think it had something to do with how cold their island is there in Scotland. He was also scandalized by the behavior of some of the monks were engaging in. Not sure if it prudent to repeat it here.

    He is a very holy priest and if he has a mission in your area I would definitely recommend attending.
