About this time last year, the land was so parched and dry, if you so much as BREATHED on some dry grass it would combust into a fiery conflagration. (Well, almost).
We had a 500-year drought last year. Our area (San Antonio, TX) was the worst hit in the entire US, according to the map I saw.
Then, that winter, we had a serious cold snap that hadn't been seen in decades. I lost a lime tree to that hard freeze.
This spring, we got a TON of rain that turned my backyard into mud soup. And my backyard has very good drainage! But when you get a couple feet of rain, the water runs out of places to go, I guess.
The weather is acting very, very strange. The sun is up to something.
