I received an out of the blue email saying that my old Fisheaters account had been re-activated (after being banned years ago) by the moderator. Out of curiosity, I logged on and come to find out they are bleeding established members so much, they've "unbanned" many from the past. [....] Seems Clare Brigid (he/she/whomever) has even left - YIKES!
Ah, yes. Would that be an
alter ego of the infamous "
Impy" of the scandalous F.E. insider-
clique? Maybe Vox got further infected with pagan
political correctness, and started allowing members to invent
personal pronouns[‡], which Vox then demanded--under pain of banning--exclusive use of in all member postings? Just idle speculation, but sadly, not out of the question at F.E.
It's incredible how other Catholics are so swift to shut fellow Catholics down FOREVER. Christ said you're to forgive seventy times seven [;... that's what ...] we should aim for, the kind of reconciling and peace-oriented attitude is gone [....]
I'm an advocate of
temporary bans as a tool for disciplining otherwise satisfactory members who need some motivation to abandon persistently antisocial behavior in an Internet forum. But I don't really expect webmasters so patient--or personally saintly--that they could conform to a threshhold as high as
490 times.
[....] and utterly replaced with cliquish groupthink and cults of personality.
The more one reads of Vox's biographical confessions[†], the odder it seems that
she could be the font of
groupthink or the focus of a
cult of personality.

Note †: I'm sure that years ago, I saved at least a link to 1 of her more revealing biographical discourses, but finding it nowadays would be quite a challenge.
Note ‡: A previously unimaginable practice that's been imposed in such a totalitarian manner in many U.S. colleges & universities that there are harsh penalties for students who don't "go along" with that particular perversion of the English language.
