Is Feminism Catholic or not?
Not today's feminism. But there was a kind of feminism going on in early Church history. Mary Magdalene is one good example, and St. Jerome is another excellent example. It goes against the very heart of Catholicism to support the idea that women are somehow less, and that's what feminism is supposed to be about.
Do you realise that the reason why women wear pants in the modern era is because of Feminism?
No, I don't realize this, because I don't think it's true. I know there have been some articles here and there about some big feminist conspiracy. But women started wearing pants, because they started to become available in feminine styles, for women, regardless of why they became available. No matter how you cut it, pants are frequently more comfortable, so it's no wonder women were happy to adopt them. Nothing in society told them that buying and wearing pants would make them raging feminαzι man-haters, they just started wearing clothes that were available, comfortable, and looked nice to them.
The average woman in the 60s and 70s who started wearing jeans made for women did not follow Gloria Steinem, did not burn her bra or anything like that. These things are all fringe activities. Sure, they had their affect on us, but following a trend does not a bra-burner make.
