Try not to focus on what upsets you or depresses.. Think about good things that make for treasure in Heaven, such as how your bearing your daily duties is storing this up..

This is happiness. Thinking of all the good and joys you will gain because of living virtuously here below. And how beautiful virtuous deeds are done in Christ.

.. Also. fish or flax oil pills are good for mood boosts.

Periodically, I take a look at the Maxims of St Philip Neri. I was looking earlier today and I liked the one for 22nd May (two days' time):

"If we find nothing in the world to please us, we ought to be pleased by this very not finding anything to please us."

Quote from: Truth is Eternal

Most everything around me is in the process of spiraling towards ruin. I have always been told to see the good of God in everything, and, while I believe that's true, everything just continues into moral, social, political and economic chaos which makes it that much more difficult to see good in the majority of people. The less good I see in people, the more wonderful and magnificent our great God appears to me.

I am just having trouble finding my place in all of this. I hate my job. I am also told to be happy I have a job. I see some of the logic in it but it still doesn't change the fact I hate my job and the place appears to be falling apart.

Is it wrong to in a way, to beg God for the chastisement to come in full force?

I.e., when you're tempted to beg God to send the Chastisement soon because everything's so unbearable, then your answer is fish oil & flax oil for mood boosts.

Well, the Anti Definition League will never say clare is an αnтι-ѕємιтє, so you can find that in the world to please you.   :smirk:

I see you added the word "of". I agree, the maxim sounds better with it.
