  • “In reaction to the movement within the Roman Catholic Church known as Modernism, Pope Pius X issued in 1907 the encyclical Pascendi dominici gregis and the decree Lamentabili sane exitu, which condemned the movement as a heresy.

To ensure enforcement of these decisions, Monsignor Umberto Benigni organized, through his personal contacts with theologians, an unofficial group of censors who would report to him those thought to be teaching condemned doctrine. This group was called the Sodalitium Pianum,...which in France was known as La Sapinière...

Among those it investigated was... Angelo Roncalli (later Pope John XXIII).[1][2]

Cardinal Secretary of State Rafael Merry del Val prevented the association from gaining canonical recognition, and the competent department of the Roman Curia disbanded it in 1921 on the grounds of "changed circuмstances".[3]

According to Yves Congar O.P., the network remained operational to some degree until the early years of the Second World War.[4
Rom 5: 20 - "But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more."

  • Prediction:

In the “6th Age” of the Catholic Church,
St. Pope Pius X will be re-classified as a martyr for the Faith and vestments for his Feast-day will be red.

This is based on the accusation he was poisoned by his Jesuit nurse, who shortly after the Pope’s death, left the order and became a German submarine captain in WWI.

Cardinal Merry de Val had speculated there was foul play on the night of the Pope’s death.

St. Pope Pius X, pray for your remnant Church.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

I'd always heard he died of "heartbreak" because of WWI.

False equivalency.  We all know where you’re going with this.  Father Hesse goes into detail on the reforms of Saint Pius X.  Recognizing the need for reform and taking care of it, does not give future heretics the right to completely obliterate the religion.  The changes of SPX were imperceptible, Catholic, necessary, and glorifying of the liturgy.  Not destructive, unnecessary, illogical, alien, and obfuscating to the liturgy.

In his 1903 motu proprio “Tra le sollectudine” Pius X encouraged the whole-hearted participation of everyone in the Mass.

    A half-truth is a lie.

Tra Le Sollecitudini is the good Pope's Instruction on Sacred Music.

The gravamen of the motu proprio is strict limitation on the type of sacred music and the allowable instruments, tempos, length of the sacred music, as well as forbidding the vernacular.

His explicit intent was to end "the abuse affecting sacred chant and music. And indeed, whether it is owing to the very nature of this art, fluctuating and variable as it is in itself, or to the succeeding changes in tastes and habits with the course of time, or to the fatal influence exercised on sacred art by profane and theatrical art, or to the pleasure that music directly produces, and that is not always easily contained within the right limits, or finally to the many prejudices on the matter, so lightly introduced and so tenaciously maintained even among responsible and pious persons, the fact remains that there is a general tendency to deviate from the right rule, prescribed by the end for which art is admitted to the service of public worship and which is set forth very clearly in the ecclesiastical Canons, in the Ordinances of the General and Provincial Councils, in the prescriptions which have at various times emanated from the Sacred Roman Congregations, and from Our Predecessors the Sovereign Pontiffs."

It was also to bring back the Gregorian plainchant.

  • Because of Pope St Pius X, children who reach the age of reason can receive Holy Communion.
