  • I am ashamed to admit my favourite is Miller Genuine Draft. It's a light beer perfect for the summer. As a Canadian I suppose that makes me weird. It's Friday, so I abstain. This results in me thinking about things like this.

  • The beer I drink most frequently is Coors Original. They call it the Banquet Beer. The reason I drink it is because it is very inexpensive and it doesn't taste bad to me. My favorite beer is Sam Adams, though I do not drink it often because I am poor and it is expensive. So I have it on special occasions like my birthday.

Although I must admit to also liking Bass (the real stuff that you get in England, not the swill they've started making in Canada and selling in the States), Modelo Negro, St. Pauli Girl, Becks, and fer the Americun stuff, I like Lone Star in the long neck bottles, Shiner Bock, Coors original in the bottle, Rolling Rock, and Steelhead Ale. Anchor Porter is okay, too. Actually I like most beers except for Budweiser, Old Milwaukee, and most American beers in cans. My favorites tend to be German beers and English Ales. Newcastle Brown might be my "favourite" of the lot. Two that I used to like a lot are no longer available -- Adnam's Nut Brown and Watney's Red Barrel. sigh.

  • Nothing wrong with either of those. I am ashamed to admit, I have probably tried every beer you can imagine.

In Canada, the difference between expensive and cheap beer is 2-3 dollars per six pack. In fact, the cheapest beer is still 8 bucks per six pack. Coors is 11 dollars. Newcastle is 13 dollars. MGD is 12.

Not at all!  It actually has the distinction of being "America's Oldest Brewery."  It is brewed in Pottsville, Pennsylvania (outside of Philadelphia), and also in Florida now.  The name "Yuengling" is German, and is pronounced ying-ling.  It is so ubiquitous in Pennsylvania, that you can simply order a "lager," and you will get a Yuengling.

  • Right not I'm on a India Pale Ale kick, particularly from Ninkasi.  Also enjoy Inversion IPA from Deschutes Brewery in Oregon, and Stone IPA from Stone Brewery in San Diego.

These are all good to get through some of the more trying threads here on CI or IA.

Becks used to be good.  Was my favorite.  Until they moved their operation to St. Louis, MO a little over a year ago.  Their beer instantly turned to garbage.

I'm still experimenting with a new favorite beer now.  I've currently got a sixer of Spaten and Peroni in the fridge.  I would say that I prefer Peroni these days, but still looking for a new favorite.

  • Coors?  Miller?  I thought this was a beer thread!

For me, it depends a bit on the time of year.  During the Summer when it gets hot, I spend a lot of time with IPA's-- mainly Summit and New Belgium (I don't think Summit would be considered commercial).  Also Boddingtons.  Most frequently when it hits ninety or above, I'll have hard cider (Woodchuck).  Strongbow is good, too.

But normally, Fat Tire (and derivatives) mainly, as far as commercial beers.  I really like dark(er) brews.  Stout especially.  Guiness and Murphy's.  Sam Adams is alright, but I don't want to financially support them after they promoted that thing with that radio show.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).
