What I've seen is impromptu soccer games, flying a kite, 3-legged races, basketball, RC cars on the ground.
    .
Frisbee catch, maybe with a dog -- good time for "flat" earth frisbees this year, eh?
    .
Now with people bringing drones to the park, that could become problematic.

Bocce ball, fireworks, target practice, archery, horse riding, volleyball, swimming, bike riding, trail walking, fishing, trebuchet building and throwing, good food, family prayers, extra rosary.
    .
    Lots of choices.  :)

  • Too late!  Other than wearing red, white, and blue, what remains of my family did basically nothing today.  Dad was tired, Mom had a headache, so I made chicken vegetable soup in the crock pot for dinner, tried to contact my sister without success. I watched on line as the police took a crazy feminist off the Statue of Liberty.  Then my parents went to bed early.  I went to bed, too, but am up again because I can't sleep.

Frankly, I'd rather be going in to work tomorrow since holidays only remind me of earlier days when we had a big family and friends with whom to get together.

  • Not sure if folks were not feeling very patriotic, or just too broke, but there were very few people in and around our neighborhood celebrating the 4th this year. It was really kind of sad.

I am sure it depends upon where you live.  My neighbor did 2.5 hours of fireworks non-stop.  Big ones.

  • We introduced our children, ages 2 and 1 to poppers and smoke bombs. The 1 year old tried to stick the first popper she got ahold of in her mouth, and the 2 year old either crushed them in her fingers or under foot. She never did figure out how to make them pop by throwing. We lit a couple fountains and then everyone lost interest, lol. We were all in bed by 8:30.

I do love to watch a good firework show, but we don't find that keeping the kids up that late is worth it. Maybe in a couple years.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

  • We went to a festival our town has, and I took the kids on some rides.. realizing a little to late I’m way to old for that stuff anymore lol

We came back home, and my husband smoked ribs for our friends, and family. Then we stayed up with my brother, his daughter, and his mom while we waited for fire works. We let off some color clay smoke bombs, and sparklers. Everyone went to bed exhausted lol

  • Went to visit my dad on the lake.  Ate plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and munchies.  Drank beer too 😁👍.  Went out on the lake on my dad’s boat to watch the fireworks with the family.  Drank more beer.  It was a really fun 4th of July 😆😁👍.
