Ironically, the Novus Ordo really did pave the way for the catastrophic Protestant conversion rates in the Caribbean and Latin America. The Novus Ordo is essentially high church Anglicanism, so there isn't much of a leap to make into low Church Protestantism.
Capitalism and the destruction of the Church within culturally Catholic churches is also to blame. The Church had its own widespread charitable institutions, convents, schools, and monasteries in Latin America, but those have collapsed. Wealthy Protestants offer vulnerable Catholics food and money (and sometimes they sponsor them for American Visas) if they'll renounce Christ and become a Protestant. The same thing happened during the Irish potato famine.
It creates sectarian divisions where there were none and destroys the native Catholic culture of the people as they become radically individualistic and accept contraception and divorce, and other Protestant ideologies.
I never commend Protestants when they tell me what good works they're doing in my family's country of origin. They think they're doing everyone a favor, but they are truly destroying countries.
