  • One woman manages to give credit where credit is due to the Blessed Virgin.

I was taken by surprise when I saw her hold up a picture of the Christ child and the Blessed Mother. Of course, the irony is how immodestly she is dressed and the unfeminine nature of the sport, but even among all of this evil Christ is recognized.

     :applause:

How often do you see something like this at such events?
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

  •  I don't necessarily buy into the fact that the Olympics is "evil" in and of itself.

Yes, I get it with the immodesty, over glorification of man ( and women these days) over the top patriotism, political correctness and even the corruption within some of the judges and such.

But the positives do outweigh the negatives in most cases. Firstly, is seems to encourage many of the youth to get in shape and take part in athletics because you know, especially in the U.S. many children are morbidly obese. Also, it keeps them off the streets and forces them into clean living, so they take care of themselves physically and not descend into bad habits like smoking, drinking, drug abuse, etc.

For some of these athletes their training and competition has been a saving grace for them, many of the women come from cultural cesspools where females are treated like dogs. this gives some of them an escape from a life of oppression and abuse and I mean real abuse, not like  the imaginary concept of "gender discrimination " we have in this country.

Lastly, it does give a chance to publicly display your faith worldwide like this woman did and you know like the other poster said, this drives the Jews, secularists and atheists crazy and they can't say a damn thing about it.

Especially a black woman who just gold-medaled, they have to keep their mouths shut and not natter on about religious "kooks" and "bigots".

Reminds me the time Mother Teresa accepted some kind of international noble award for her good samaritan work with the poor in India and she used the podium to chide the world on the evils of abortion and the libs couldn't say a thing, they had to just sit there and take it.

I so agree, Aleric.  It also promotes good will amoung nations.  I saw the United States athletes hugging both winners and loosers against them.  With all of the bad feelings the US stirs up by its agression and killings in other countries, this helps promote good will amoung the peoples of the nations .  We are not responsible for what the Zionists do.

  • It was good to see. Another bright light of sorts in sports was an article recently that Major League Soccer play Eddie Gaven is a supporter of the Traditional Latin Mass, Benediction, and The Rosary. Granted the article came from a Neo Cat source, but we need more athletes that believe in God and live moral lives and hold them in high regards. Not to throw stones, but we could use less of the Kobe Bryants and others of this world.

  • POPE ST. PIUS X AND THE OLYMPIC GAMES

"That moment at the beginning of the 20th century is described in a book titled "Pio X: Le Olimpiadi e lo Sport" (Pius X: The Olympics and Sports) by Antonella Stelitano. At that time "less than 1% of the population practiced any sporting activity, ... and sport was used only as a form of military training or as a pastime for the upper classes," the author explained in an interview with Vatican Radio.

One such example was in a speech that Pius X directed toward youth Oct. 8, 1905. "I admire and bless with all my heart all the games and pastimes, gymnastics, cycling, mountain climbing, boating, jogging, [...], competitions and academics to which you dedicate yourselves The exercise of the body affects wonderfully on the exercise of the spirit. Because these activities require more work, you take away that sloth, which is the father of vices, and finally because the same friendly matches will be in you an image emulation in the exercise of virtue," the Pope said.

At that time in history many people did not understand the importance of exercise, said Stelitano who concluded her interview by recalling an anecdote where Pius X told one of his cardinals: "All right, if it is impossible to understand that this can be done, then I myself will do exercise in front of everyone so that they may see that, if the Pope can do it, anyone can do it." "Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day become a formal heretic ... This is a statement I would sign in my blood." St. Montfort, Secret of the Rosary. I support the FSSP, the SSPX and other priests who work for the restoration of doctrinal orthodoxy and liturgical orthopraxis in the Church. I accept Vatican II if interpreted in the light of Tradition and canonisations as an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven. Sedevacantism is schismatic and Ecclesiavacantism is heretical.

Pope St. Pius and the rest of don't live in the same time period. I can say with certainty that the great Pope would not approve of most of what takes place in the more recent Olympics, even if it is "exercise". I call the Olympic games demonic because of the style of dress and the nature some of the activities, not because people are exercising. The over-sexualization of women in certain sports (such as in rhythmic and acrobatic gymnastics) and the over-masculinization of women in other sports (such as wrestling, taekwondo, soccer, etc.) are not to be lauded in any way.

  • If Pope St. Pius X gives sporting events a "thumb's up" then it's okay with me.

  • That is great to see. There appears to be a lot of Catholics in the Olympics. Usain Bolt is one Catholic that comes to mind, making the sign of the Cross before every race.

But I have to agree with Daegus that the Olympics are demonic. That's not to say that it's sinful to watch them, some olympic sports can be entertaining. But there are numerous anti-Christian elements in the Olympics. For instance, the name “Olympics” comes from Mount Olympus, the home of the Greek gods. The original Olympic games were started in 776 B.C. to honor the chief god, Zeus. The Olympic logo (the five rings) looks a lot like the eye of Osiris, the Freemasonic symbol that can be found on the back of the US dollar bill. And what's more, the Olympic 2012 logo really says "Zion". Have a look at what the logo actually says if you mess around with the so-called numbers a bit:

Something else about the Olympics that really turns me off is the concept of all the nations in the world coming together to compete. Something about that sounds like the New World Order, where there will be a one world everything.

And then you have feminism being promoted (with immodest dressing to go along with it), tributes to the anti-Christian band "The Beatles", and gay singers perform at the ceremonies. The Judeo-Masons are control freaks, they have to run everything, even sports. And they are definitely present at the Olympics.
