I received Michael Hoffman's Newsletter #62 today and, as is usual, he brings his spotlight to bear on important matters  that have been ignored by many.

His main article is "Equivocation" and "Mental Reservation": Protorabbinic Tactics of Deceit and their Adoption during the Renaissance. Recall that the "Renaissance" was the time when, despite knowing the wicked content of the "Oral Torah" (тαℓмυd and Kabbalistics books), professed Christians attempted to sanitize and "baptize" those diabolical works as though they had salutary content for Catholics. Those efforts weakened the Church's guard and, as a result, the penchant of the rabbis for lies infected the Church—"Equivocation" and "Mental Reservation" were adopted.

I encourage you to buy this issue; better yet, subscribe.  You will be amazed how the effort to introduce the style of rabbinical deceit took hold, how Jesus Christ was libeled as the author of such deceits, how a Doctor of the Church abetted it, and how Pope Innocent XI's efforts to eliminate "Equivocation" and "Mental Reservation" failed.

In these lying times of broken promises and "deals," a better understanding of the Eighth Commandment behooves us all.
