  • Is it ever acceptable for a Catholic to enter the "chapels" of the protestant heretics, the eastern  schismatics, the Jєωs, the Islamic infidels, etc.?  I would say absolutely not for their "worship services" (but I have heard it argued that Catholics can attend weddings & funerals so long as they do not participate beyond mere presence), but what about other things?  What if a Catholic electrician is hired to do work on a Mosque?  What if a Catholic painter is hired to paint the interior of a Methodist "chapel"?

  • Timothy- I know I am not directly answering your question, but I wanted to make a point for the latter two questions regarding the Electrician and Painter:

They should bring some blessed Green Scapulars and hide them on the property of the non-Catholic places of worship and ask Our Blessed Mother convert those who attend there!

  • It's good to think about these questions, Tim.

What is the right thing to do?

  • Remember wherever you go but particularly to one of those places that you are on display. By your confirmation you are called to give witness to what teh Catholic church is all about. You may not carry a large bible or a large rosary, sometimes actions speak louder than words.
