Do traditional Catholics believe in evolution?
No, because it opposes the theology of creation, which was upheld by the Church until around St Pius X.
This theology of creation also teaches that the world indeed was built by God in seven (earth) days. Hardly anybody believes this today, anymore. Which just shows how intense the loss of Faith is.
Unfortunately, the modernists sneaked into the Church and began also to destroy the opposition to the unscientific evolutionism. At the minimum Pope Pius XII was already so much pro evolutionism that the Church stopped to condemn it in the same clear way as it still was condemned under St Pius X.
There's a nice book about the traditional theology of creation, co-written by SSPX Father Johannes Grün (Gruen) who spent several years in the US district and today is in the Australian district. Some of you could have had the pleasure to meet him. The book has unfortunately been withdrawn from circulation. It's too traditional for today's "standards".
