  • Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

My mother just died.  There was a definite sense of euthanasia coming from the talk of some of the doctors. Her private physician turned in his Medical license and shut down his practice because of  ObamaCare.  Her new doctor didn't make any viable effort to save her.  It was as if even though she worked like a mule and had insurance they decided her quality of life was not such as to warrant medical treatment that would have saved her.   The doctors have the license to practice medicine and we are largely at their mercy.

My home insurance doubled even though  I never filed a claim ever because of hurricane Katrina.

Its  time to discard all the influences in our lives that are less than sensitive, feeling, heartfelt, caring, attentive.....ah you get the point.....negative, abusive,
constraining, manipulative and downright corrupt and evil.

As for those we had known or loved, or still love, we muststill be vigilant of their actions. The time is now, evil is trying to infiltrate all that we have cherished or respected. We must be cautious and in constant meditative prayer.

I am certain that all of you have come attuned to the way people are consistently blindsiding anything that attempts to be Good, or just plain mannerisms and protocol that one  would normally expect from normal, feeling individuals that we have known, loved or cherished. I am deeply disappointed
at what is slowly becoming not only a commonality, but a harsh reality. Bottom line, people are loosing the ability to feel, and be human........this is the sign, above all signs that evil is slowly invading the most privy, and cherished part of human existence.........the soul.

In His Name, Jesus Christ, We Shall Conquer,
    Miles Dei

I found out this evening my parents' doctor of 30 years has reached the same decision.  He is 63 and has decided to retire as of December 15.  He has not dealt with insurance in a decade because the business was dictating to him how to practice medicine.  He took only those who could afford to pay his fees.  In order to stay in practice, ObamaCare would force him to become just another cog in the medical machine.  I surmise this is step one in eliminating two thirds of the population.  Allow people to die off by neglect.  Like I said earlier, the only sure plan is a state of grace, but how many have it?  Are there any brave Catholic doctors out there willing to practice in secret?  My parents are ages 84 and 90.

  • I'm the one who used the term "black-market" for the type of medical care we'd soon be facing, back on page 2 or 3. I believe I said something about jumping the border TO Mexico, as well. If I didn't, I meant to.

My dad's still getting extraordinary medical care, but we're not in NYC. Health care costs have really depended on where you lived (but that won't be the case much longer, imo). NYC is so bad, though, that I've brought up the notion of an underground railroad to get people OUT of NYC, Chicago, Detroit, and a few other urban hellholes. I've been told NYC is like a black hole (you get sucked in by the work opportunities, later can't get out). And I have family in Chicago who also feel pretty "stuck". Detroit...   The darkness DOES INDEED descend.

Sorry about your mother, Miles Dei, and of course we'll say prayers for the repose of her soul, and for you.

I think our greatest fear isn't dying (we're Catholic!), but more having to witness our loved ones suffer and die needlessly because we don't have enough money, or don't live in the right places. Satanic machinations. This U.S. health care business surely feels Satanic (free mammograms and birth control; but don't get caught sick when you're elderly without a sizable fortune). I agree with Frances that it's a form of population control. I'd go further and say that allowing the elderly to suffer and die because they don't meet some atheist criteria is little different from forced abortion. Worse than regular abortion, as there would be no "choice" in the matter.

I am SO GLAD All Saints' and Souls' is almost here.

They're still very rare, but some docs are setting themselves up as "cash-only". If you have insurance, you can still see them and then file for reimbursement yourself. Their rates are lower because they don't have to have a whole staff of people just to deal with insurance companies.

My thought when reading about them was that they'd disappear with Obamacare because if you're forced to have insurance, you don't want to go to the trouble to file the charges yourself. But, then again, I'm sure more than a few will just pay the fine rather than pay for insurance.

What you want to look for is a "concierge dr." These are "cash only" drs. They spend tons of time, answer emails, long phone calls. By time, I mean each visit is at least a half hour. If more involved it could be hours working and talking one on one with a dr. Some even make house calls and show up at the ER. They're is NO wait at the dr office when you have an appt.

How it works is you pay a flat yearly rate (or monthly some offer). A fair price is between $2000-3000 a year. You basically get unlimited visits. The office doesn't handle money or insurance.
Anything they do IN office is covered in the yearly fee, like a EKG read out. But labs which need to be sent out for screening or scans must be paid for by your insurance. If you need to see a specialist, that has to go to insurance, BUT your dr will call and work with them directly.

They limit their patients number so some are not open to new patients. If you are lucky, you can get a pediatrician concierge who will treat the family at a discount rate, say $4000 a year. They make house calls too. It's super hard to find one that is accepting patients at the moment. Again, no extra costs are involved even when they visit your home.

If you have a chronic condition, these are the BEST type of dr to have.  It may sound expensive, but its really not.

I've used a concierge drs for 4 years now and can't imagine going back.

    But to be clear:
You pay your dr CASH (usually upfront for a year)
You need insurance to get labs and test OUTSIDE the office
You need insurance for specialist drs

  • In the USA you NEED health insurance. It's an evil but it's part of our survival.

Most bankruptcies are medical debt related. We're never told how much something will cost when we go in the door. Drs, scans, tests, hospitals just run up the bill and expect it to be paid.

When the drs get in with insurance companies they're required to give a "discount" to them. They basically pay a fraction of the sticker price of the tests or care. So if something "costs" $2000 for a test, insurance might pay $300. But if there's no insurance they stick you with the full price, even though the true price is MUCH less.

The sad truth is a single ER visit where you're in for chest pains and released a few hours later can literally bankrupt a person.
