    • Is it illegal/a sin/bad/etc. to download youtube videos or books for personal use?

    Everyone knows you can download any youtube (or other) video for free.

    Some books are public domain and they don't have any copyright rules and things like that, like the books at archive.org; but what about books that are uploaded contrary to the author's wishes? Do you sin by downloading it and using it for personal use only?

    For example, How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization can be downloaded for free as a pdf. Would it be sinful to download it for personal use?
