I haven't pointed this out in a while, so here goes --
There are lots of topics on CathInfo that you can't even READ, unless you're logged in as a member. I repeat: even CI members can't read many topics, unless they are logged in.
I created a "Members Only" subforum, with the express purpose of allowing censorship-free, ad-free, unfettered conversation on controversial topics with controversial keywords.
The sub-forum in question is not visible to the general public, NOR the search engines. Especially those search engines that USED TO have the motto "Don't be evil" but obviously have thrown that motto to the curb in the past several years.
Especially search engines which are also advertisers. See, advertisement-delivery systems have to "read" the website's page -- the target page -- so they know what to serve up. So when we're discussing certain topics, that is problematic.
So it's not just about keeping things hidden from search engines, but advertisers as well.
CathInfo is free, and doesn't require any identification or relinquishment of your privacy. So I don't think I'm asking too much to require people to sign up for a FREE CathInfo account to fully enjoy the forum. So if this affects you, SIGN UP ALREADY because you have NO IDEA of all the juicy conversations you've missed out on. Actually, you haven't technically missed out, since you can view the whole backlog of topics in "Members Only" once you join. Right now, page 1 only takes you back to August 1, which is 4 days ago. There are SEVENTY PAGES of topics right now.
1395 topics, almost 10,000 posts. So stop missing out on all the good stuff! Sign up today.
A lot of topics you think "disappeared" were just moved there. Surprise!
