  • Well, this is something.  What message is the world getting from this?  Anyone know?

I've done the pro life rally  year after year with some people driving by and honking, some driving by and flipping us off and most just driving by.  And year after year abortion just kept on rolling.  Which is why I have been puzzled by the ineffectiveness of these faithful rallies and rosary crusades.  Is it because the NO is heretical or what?

I don't know. Could it be that maybe those Catholics involved in these pro-life rally are more focused on figting abortion then they are about trying to lead holy lives. The NO doesn't teach Catholics how to lead holy lives - ie.. dress modestly, not listen to secular music or watch bad Tv shows, etc... I think your soul has to be more pleasing to God inorder for prayers to work when you are fighting something largely Satanic like this.

  • Is anyone having a public rosary event or praying the rosary with a group at his chapel?  I'm just curious how all of you will be celebrating this 90th anniversary!

  • Magdalene --

It's more than that.  Those things you mentioned (dressing modestly, leading holy lives) are exactly what will end abortion.

Catholics need to set the example by modest dress, no TV, shunning all *worldly* fun, etc. Catholics know how to have innocent fun. We don't need beaches, expensive vacations, movies, rock music, materialism, etc.

People who can't think often confuse giving up ALL THOSE THINGS with being some kind of burqa-wearing muslim or puritan. NOT TRUE.

When a woman walks into an abortion mill, it's already too late. THE WORLD has already gotten to her. Catholics need to fight the world -- that's the only way to stop abortion.

But yes, prayer is our first weapon, because we need prayer for all of the above, including touching the hearts of those considering abortion, the doctors involved, etc.

  • Prayer is, and always should be, a given among true Catholics.  What I am wondering is, what is our second weapon?

The Legion of Mary at our chapel heads up a Rosary on the 13th of every month, year round. Many times during the summer this takes place at a Planned Parenthood or some other public location and otherwise it's simply in our chapel. Tomorrow, since it's our parish workday and also a Saturday (evening Mass), I believe the Rosary will be said in the chapel.
