Dear forum,

I have often wondered if ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs become possessed by demons over time. As a Master's in Social work student, I have read many medical articles that have exposed me to some of the depraved things that they do to each other that cause them gross medical problems. The only way I can rationalize why someone would do these things to satisfy their inordinate lusts even though it destroys there bodies with disease is that they become possessed by demons and can no longer control their actions over time. I am not talking about those unfortunates that suffer from these attractions but live a celibate life, but those that go off the deepend into that lifestyle. Another thing that has always made me wonder is the gαy "voice" that many ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs have. It always creeps me out and seems unnatural.

  • I think that is a perfectly logical outcome of deviant behaviour. Furthermore, as you well know, they have a tendency to mutilate and murder their victims in many cases. So,yes I think your line of reason is correct.

  • some possessed, some likely oppressed, but sodomy is in satans plan, so if they are doing satans will, no real need to possess per se.....they are under  :devil2: control already.....

  • I believe that committing grave sins has an effect on the body as well as the soul. So if a man is a grave sinner like a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ, the gravity of his sins can cause cause changes to his body as well as to his soul. I think the fact that you can often tell a man is ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ by his voice and his looks has something to do with the effects of sin on the body, and that this is meant to be a warning to other people. ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs stick out because their sins are so grave that these changes occur faster and are more noticeable than they are in other sinners but I do not think this is exclusive to ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs.

I would expect obsession and oppression to be common among ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs because of their sins. And I would expect possession to be less common, but still far more prevalent than among the general population.

  • well said, Matto

of note, I had a friend since high school that killed himself 2-3 yrs ago.he came "out" in 1994, though looking back, despite his straight dating life, he was showing feminate signs, though thought it was due to being raised primarliy by women.

He told me that many queers hype up the acting and language, many are not as effiminate as they act, they are sorta doing it a a means of "in yo face".

He got in the last few months very depresed, worn down and had lossof voice and other things going on that no MD could figure out, was sickly.....

I attribute it to soul-sickness, manifesting in his physical and mental health.

  • Rather, how about the question, Does the Church think...

The Church has never said so for any type of habitual sinner. I think the idea is completely absent in tradition to claim, "watch out for being a greivous habitual sinner, you will, or may likely get possessed!"

  • True, possession is rare, oppression more likely, but like I noted, if you are a sinner, you already are doing  :devil2: will anyway, esp grevious mortal sin, sodomy crying out to heaven and all......

I have heard from interviews with exorcists that being a habitual mortal sinner is one of the main ways of becoming possessed. There is also this:

Fr. Jeremy Davies, Exorcist: "Among the causes of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity is a contagious demonic factor."

  • HeterosɛҳuąƖs who live by lust are in mortal sin as well --

Though I don't want to downplay the evil of sodomy. It is one of the sins crying out to heaven for vengeance.

Scripture even talks about how you can know a loose woman by the wanton look in her eyes, etc. I'm sure the same applies to ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs.

Especially by looking at one's eyes, which are the windows of the soul.

  • A 1 lb hunk of iron will NOT align itself with the earth's magnetic poles.

However, if you take a delicate shard of magnet, and suspend it by a string, it will do just that.

A saint, someone whose soul is placid as a calm pond and living in the constant presence of God can perceive things that are part of the "general noise", which go unperceived by most men.

In short, if your soul is completely calm and recollected, you see and understand things more clearly, and you are more sensitive in general.

  • I notice in old pictures that a lot of immoral influential writers tend to look particularly evil and have wondered if this has something to do with the fact that their writings are responsible for the corruption of souls. Here are some examples:

    Tolstoy

    Nietzsche

    Hemingway

    Proust

    Sartre

    Joyce

    Joyce again

    Beckett

These men look monstrous to me. Am I just reading this into the pictures because I know that their writings are evil? Look especially at Sartre. I think he looks like he has lost all of his humanity and as become a pure demon. Is it wrong to point out that someone looks evil? I would warn anyone who reads this that they should avoid reading anything written by any of these men.

I have some work to do until I reach this point ( to put it mildly ).  I may have the perception, and I definitely have the sensitivity, but I don't yet have the perfect control over my perception, the perfect alignment with God's will or way of seeing.

Another problem is that the devil can use your gifts against you, he can make you think you have more power than you do.  Let's say I am one of the elect.  How is the devil going to get me, or try to ( though he can't really deceive the elect )?  He can't use the cheap tricks he uses with others, throw a woman at me, or something like that.  So what he does is take my potential level of holiness, let's say my potential beatified level, and then blows me up so that I think I'm much more than what I am, so that I think I'm the next St. Augustine, for instance.  He could make me think that my word is law and that I can never make mistakes.  The ego then goes so far that I fall below my potential level and could even descend into despair and hell.

So I prefer to remain at the level of "nothing," like St. Catherine said.  God exists, I do not.  That is the way to defeat the devil.  The more you are aware of God's glory, the more naturally and easily you cease to be impressed by yourself.  Even St. Francis, given so many gifts he was practically a mirror of Christ, is a mere speck of dust compared to God.  And my flaws in comparison to St. Francis are so miserably apparent that there is no room for self-approbation.

  • I have thought that Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir's relationship was reminiscent of a witch and the devil.  It is fascinating how she is this big feminist figure yet she was completely emotionally enslaved by Sartre who cheated on her constantly.  And of course, it is men behind feminism, it is men who are controlling these duped women and leading them away from happiness.  I don't think I've ever seen his face before now.

How about poets?  Look at Verlaine and Rimbaud, the French poets who had a gαy relationship even though, I believe, neither of them were gαy -- they just had this intense "spiritual" ( Satanic ) connection:

    http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/pictures/paul_verlaine.jpg

Verlaine, on the left, was very odd in appearance.  Rimbaud, in the center, looks like an angel.

Percy Shelley looked like an angel as well, and he is now buried in a "non-Catholic cemetary in Rome."

    http://gryphonscry.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/percy_bysshe_shelley.jpg

So angelic looks don't mean much, especially when you are taking pride in them.  Lucifer was a beautiful angel.  Remember the Jansenist nun who was said to have the "looks of an angel, the pride of the devil"?  ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs also often tend to have very perfect features, immaculate angelic looks.
