    • First of all, I don't want anyone to take this thread too seriously -- this is strictly for the sake of conversation.

    For all the single people out there, does the height of your potential partner matter to you? Would you prefer dating someone taller/shorter/about the same size as yourself? Would you automatically dismiss someone who was significantly taller/shorter than you? Be honest!  :wink:

    Second, for those that are married, did height make a difference to you back when you were still searching for that special someone? Was height a significant factor in your choice of your eventual partner? (OK, I realize that last question is kind of loaded, so feel free not to answer it.)

    Finally, do any of you know any couples (personally, not celebrities) where one person is significantly taller/shorter than the other?

    • It obviously matters to women a great deal.  Nowadays being close to 6' tall is too short for a lot of them.

    A woman who is under 4' 11'' over 6' tall will be rather extreme in appearance.

    • I am 6'3"...

    I have dated women of various heights...

    From my POV, the height of a woman is a non-factor, although dating (or even seeing) a woman significantly taller than I is unlikely...

    • Honestly.. With the current crisis of faith all around the world, I would rather not get too picky. As long as the person is a Catholic and believes in the true Traditions of the Church (so FE-type trads are struck out), then I will see who I work best with.

    But generally, as long as the girl isn't significantly taller or shorter than I am, I don't care about height (but I am biased downwards..)

    I recently saw on youtube a video of the world's tallest man (I think he's like 7 feet, 9 inches) saying that he is now married. In the video the woman is significantly shorter than he is.. That's the only couple I know lol!

    • As young as I could remember, my husband was going to be taller than I and older.  He is!

    I might add, in my prime I was 5' x 7".

    Well, if I was free to court a wholesome Catholic maiden (and would seek and find one), I wouldn't care about height. If she's not a figment of my imagination, but an actual human person who exists outside of my mind or art (reference to Ovid's Pygmalion here), that would be more important than accidental features such as height.

    No, height didn't matter. Finding a person matching all of the qualities which are important is much too difficult to bother concerning oneself with an unimportant feature such as height.

    There is something to be said, though, for the fact that if you see someone who is completely different than what you think to be "normal", you'll probably never talk to them in the first place.

    By the time I knew Matthew was shorter than me, it was too late! ha ha
    (he's only an inch or two shorter)
