  • I saw a quote from St. John Chrysostom posted on this forum where he says that God hates the Jєωs because of their wickedness. I was always told that God loved everyone. Who else does God hate? Does God hate everyone in original sin or mortal sin and love everyone in His grace? Does God hate only those sinners who he knows will never repent? Does God love only His elect and hate those destined to be damned? Is there a certain number of sins you can commit before God stops loving you and starts hating you? When does God stop loving someone and start hating someone? Who does God love, and who does God hate?
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • You have heard the saying that God loves the sinner but hates the sin, right!

Although I have read once that God referred to certain people that they were already damned. I think those are the people that no one prays for and God who knows all things, knows these people will never cooperate with His grace, although He has already given them enough to save their souls.  Knowing they will not cooperate He leaves them to their damnation.

Because if He continues to grace them, knowing anyway they will not cooperate, they will fall even deeper into Hell, therefore He shows them mercy, sparing them of the deepest parts of Hell.

That does not mean He does not love them, after all He died for them, as He suffered and died for you and I.  He would have suffered the same for them, if they were the only people created, I was taught.

Also keep in mind in the garden of olives just before His crucifixion He saw the souls of every person created, and wept for the many He realized would not be saved. This was one of His greatest sufferings, as was His mothers.  Although Mary did not see personally the souls of all the people, she just knew many would be lost, while her son still suffered for them.

The Bible does say that He favors some over others somewhere in the Bible, I know its there I read it.
    Please pray for my soul.

Who talks like this?  Is this your attempt to sound earnest, to imitate a 5-year old from a Hollywood movie?  "Mommy, how come the Jesus Man was hurt by the mean men?"

Look at how he wrote a couple days ago and compare it to how he is writing now.  Back then he was all business and making huge plans for the Catholic Church ( in his mocking way ) and now he's trying to play innocent and guileless.

They will only be allowed to worship in private homes as public worship in false religions would be prohibited. There would be higher taxes on non-Catholics and they would not be allowed to be citizens. Non-Catholics would not be allowed to hold government positions and in many towns and cities they would be required to live apart from Catholics in separate neighborhoods. If there were public schools they would be Catholic schools. Unnecessary work on Sunday would be prohibited and stores would all be closed on Sunday, even if they were owned by Jєωs or other non-believers.

I have noticed that your speech becomes more and more simplistic as you try to imitate a sincere newbie Catholic.  I guess this is your way of trying to make me and others look bad for "judging" you.  Too bad you already blew your cover.

Next time, creepy person, try to stay in character.

  • 1) you have to look at the original Greek.  When Jesus said that we must "hate" our family to be worthy of Him, the Greek word (and the Latin) actually means to "love less".

    2) God hates the sinner as sinner but loves the sinner as soul created in His image and likeness, for if God completely hated the sinner, the sinner would cease to exist.

  • Raoul, I have read many of your posts and I like you, but you are a little too suspicious. Do you really think I am that man who claimed to be the real pope in exile, who was banned from this site? Why don't you think I am really one of the other crazy posters who was banned from this site like CM?

Undoubtedly, but not in this case.

You are either him or associated with him in some way, if only as a copycat.  Sort of like in Vatican II when a bunch of infiltrators know each other by certain codes and signs ( like, perhaps, Brideshead Revisited ).  Maybe there is only one of you, perhaps you and a couple others are playing some kind of elaborate joke.  But you are playing a joke.

Hopefully this is the last I say about it, because it really doesn't matter.  Go on with your game.  I just want everyone to know who you are so they didn't say I was asleep on the watch when you pull some stunt later.

  • You didn't like my post about my imaginary kingdom. I guess my ideas are weird enough that people don't want to believe that I actually believe the things I say, so they just assume I am playing a joke on them.

Well, I don't like the word hate applied to God at all.  God does not hate in the sense that human beings can hate.

Hate is simply an absence of love.  But only good can be loved.  So in there being a lack of good in the damned and in the fallen angels, there's a lack of love.  To that extent you can say that God "hates" them--but again with the caveat that we do not attribute this negative or emotional or anthropomorphic notion of hate to God.

God still loves the damned and the fallen angels in so far as there's still some good in them.  If there weren't, they would not exist.  Their existence itself is a good.

In the sense that they've fallen short of the good that God wanted to have them become and to have, God loves them less than He wanted to love them.

Consequently, in relative terms, God hates them.  Just as Our Lord said that we need to hate our family to be worthy of Him.  What the Greek and Latin say is that we need to love them less, i.e. hate them relative to Our Lord.  Consequently, the love for these lost souls is hatred relative to the love that should have been there and the good that should have been there.

  •   But if everybody is a sinner then God can't hate sinners without hating everybody.
There is sth that makes me wonder: Maybe God loves us all, but His form of loving is different from ours.
My own experience in life is that anything can be named love. So love is itself meaningless unless we know mind of the person who loves.
    ....................................................
The best example that comes to my mind is the word 'oozum' in turkish. This word can refer to many object and ideas. So if they are speaking with one another and one of them asks for an 'oozum' the other person can't give him what he wants without knowing his mind.
    .....................................................
I have come the conclusion that the word love is actually a phonim that can refer to anything we want it to refer. It is like a two syllabus phoinm that I know in a certain languge it means God, in another it means a swear and in the third is a surname.

  •   When I heard about God's love and the way it was supposed to bring peace and warmth, I still kept my pessimism and bitterness. Because I knew that as The Supreme King who has created us and named everything, God had the power and the right to name everything He wanted as love.

God hates those that reject the Spirit of America and refuse to pray to it... :roll-laugh1: :roll-laugh2:

now serious discussion-God hates sin and those that revel in evil, but He continues to call back to Him sinners and wants all to repent and be saved........

Calvinists thoug fail to distinguish between hate that we have-which is disordered and hate of sin and sinning......hence, they make God a petty hater, no better than the rest of us that have disordered passions, they take the black/white owrd, but have no understanding of what hate and love is to God....much better than our disordered passions.....
Proud "European American" and prouder, still, Catholic
