Title: Does anyone understand finances/insurance? WSJ article

The following article has been brought to my attention and the person who did this is very anxious and upset about it, saying it is important.

Is there anyone who can agree that this is bad news - or is it not so important?  Guess it needs an interpretation/explanation.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

The market doesn't seem to like it - MetLife (ticker: MET) is down 13% over the last few days and Brighthouse Financial (ticker: BHFWV) is in the same boat.

It looks like the market considers it bad news. But who knows? - maybe next week it'll have a completely different reaction.
