It's their lack of Love of God that causes them to embrace heresies in the first place. If we refute point a, they will hold fast to point b. If you go on and refute that, they will embrace point c. Unless they can embrace Truth then they will remain in error.

And where does all this activity lead you? You become battle weary, and you become spiritually brittle. It's not necessarily true to say that which does not kill you makes you stronger. What you are doing is unnecessarily smashing your head against a wall and what you are also doing is formulating your own religious beliefs in opposition to someone else. This means that the view that someone else holds is the source, or starting point and that you can only become something by bouncing off of them.

I've spent countless hours in futile debate and only God knows if any of my words had effect.

Could those hours have been better spent reading the writings of the great saints, and more important than that, developing my interior prayer life?

The dialectic method is favored by marxists not because it arrives at truth, but because it generally leads to confusion and bitterness. The participants generally throw their arms up and say "what's the use?" The "use" is that we are to be faithful to God and that means to live our lives as faithful, Traditional Catholics.

Dave Hunt is just another in a long line of Fundamentalist Debaters who quote Dubious Sources - Take Liberties with Scriptural Exegesis of false edited versions of Sacred Scripture - Tell half truths regarding historical events and put a Protestant spin on the last 2000 years of Catholic history.

So whats the Bottom Line?

Simple - Jesus Christ chose the Apostles and formed a teaching Church based not on Scripture but on the 7 Sacraments one of which is Holy Orders which is perpetuated throughout History with the Descent of the Holy Ghost and will be with us until the End of Time as Our Lord Promised.

Jesus was not a Protestant. He didnt Send the Holy Ghost to the Protestants.

Jesus has Given us his Blessed Mother as an Intercessor and the Papal Lineage as a legacy and defender of the Deposit of Faith with the assistance of the Holy Ghost.

So what really needs to be debated?

If guys like Dave Hunt cannot see blatent truths like that , that are so obvious - how then do you think guys like Dave Hunt are going to change their entire agenda that they derive their income and fame from?

They arent. Their purpose , therefore , is to place doubt in a weak Catholics mind.

Once you come to terms with that - then you realize what a waste of time debating guys like him are.

Ask him about the Blessed Virgin Mary. That usually is about all one has to say to send the average Protestant Heretic into a rage.
