    • I can't stand control freaks

    people who just have to have control over others, regardless the cost.

    I think some in DC are in that category but for now I just wanted to discuss having them in your personal life. You wonder what the heck is wrong w/ these people, why they can't just move on once they see they cannot control someone. but no, they insist on trying over and over

    definition of insantiy

    doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result (the desired result no matter how unrealistic or attainable)

    aka pathological wishful thinking

    I know someone who did all kinds of evil just so she could hang onto this guy she wanted... all kinds of evil, hurt many people in a plethora of ways

    St. Augustine certainly knew something about control freaks.  In his magnum opus The City of God he describes the City of Man (as, of course, diametrically opposed to the City of God) as "lusting to dominate the world but at the same time "itself dominated by its passion for dominion" The saint refers to this passion for dominion as libido dominandi.

    E. Michael Jones has written a real masterpiece, Libido Dominandi subtitled sɛҳuąƖ Liberation and Political Control.  The book has been described as the definitive history of the sɛҳuąƖ revolution from 1773 to the present.  In great detail the book lays out how sɛҳuąƖ liberation was from its inception a form of control.

    that book sounds interesting, esp that last theory you mention
    sɛҳuąƖ liberation is a lie b/c those enslaved to mortal sin are the worst kinds of slaves. Only the Catholic Church can fully free one from such slavery but I can't convince Protestants... well, that there is anything good about the Catholic Church. Some are open minded but most seem very closed minded and the demons emerge from them when certain Catholics stuff is talked about...

    In my experiences with controle freak/s, they are that way due to an abusive upbringing and/or unstable life. They will try to dictate your life because they don't want you doing the things they did or be involved in the things they were but end up just making that persons life a living Hell, and when things go wrong it's always the fault of someone else other then them. They really are insane, but you can't make them see that. They automatically dismiss anything you say as being wrong if it doesn't fit what they want, logic doesn't matyer in the least.
    I don't know what else you can't do with such people except excommunicate them from your life and just pray for them...

    Yes, yet another brilliant gem from St. Augustine.  People are controlled by their lust for control.  So, in their pursuit of control, they are themselves controlled and do not actually have control.

    I know someone who fits your description and it has been HELL living w/ that person so yeh... ditch em
    the ditched ones will complain that you haven't forgiven them as Jesus requires but that is just an excuse for them to accuse you of somehting
    reminds us of the description of the devil in the Word: Accuser of the Brethren
