  • What should one do with his old brown scapulars? I am getting a new one soon and want to get rid of my old one but I don't know what to do with it. I do not want to throw it in the trash. I remember reading once that to dispose of blessed objects you should either bury them or burn them. It this right? Should I open up the fireplace and start a fire or dig a hole in the backyard?
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • Scapulars are not usually blessed; it is the person who is enrolled in the scapular.
Scapulars can be disposed of in the same manner as any other clothing.
Carmelites who wear the full scapular don't burn or bury them.

  • Be very carefull what you do with hair clippings/old clothes.
That's why Gypsies (in UK) are often caught stealing the old clothes sacks left out for charities! Drop them outside the charity shops anonymously.

Witchcraft spells and incantations have particular power when the witch uses parts of the patient's (or victim's) body. Nail parings and hair are the best. If not available, the witch can use clothes that have been worn by the person.

  • You may dispose of them by burning or burying them. That is what a priest will tell you.
