  • There's no real point to this post I'm just so disillusioned with the state of the world, the Church, and the majority of "Catholics" today. I find myself so alienated because of my views and it really sucks. My friends got tired of me, my family doesn't understand me, and any Catholic men I do meet, I end up driving away.

Since my breakup, I found someone I thought I might like but after pointing out the errors in his views (he's a doctor who dispenses birth control, he thinks you can die with mortal sin on your soul and still get to Heaven because God is forgiving, etc.) he called me condescending and told me he never wanted to speak to me again.

I feel like I'm destined to a life alone because I choose not to just ignore the BS being fed to me and I don't back down when I know I'm right.

Maybe I should just become a happy-clappy charismatic NO.   :cussing:  :smash-pc:

  • The feeling/phenomenon is common. When you go through these lonely stages it isnt that long before God puts people in your life to keep you company. Be patient. None of us are alone (especially when we want to be).

Eventually you will be in the company of people who respect you for standing firm in your faith and principles.

  • Well said, Catholic Samurai!

Ecce, I'm sure you are praying to St. Joseph and St. Raphael and of course, Our Lady.  Persevere.  Continue to keep an open heart and mind in your search for your spouse-to-be.  If it is indeed God's Will for you to marry, then He already has that person chosen for you.

What are the traditional Catholic singles websites? Are you looking on them? I did recently hear of a happy marriage that came about because of one of them.  Then of course, there is Matthew's story, also - was that a tradtional Catholic website, Matthew?

  • I'm not just sad because I don't have a spouse-to-be, it's that in addition to not having friends. There isn't a large traditional Catholic population where I am so I haven't been able to find other like-minded young adults.

I'm also the only Catholic and conservative in my family so I can't even find solace when I'm around them--they think I'm too extreme. I just feel so alone in the world.

I tried looking on Catholic Match to see what was out there but I don't see many traditional men and the few that I did talk did not seem to be open to SSPX/sede views.

I'm just tired of feeling lonely and like there's no one else who understands me. I'm also pretty new to Catholicism (I received my First Communion and Confirmation last year) so not having others around me whom I can bounce ideas off of and learn from just kinda stinks.

You know Ecce, you need to find like-minded people to be around.  It might require moving.

Well, if I had an opportunity, I might. I don't really see how though. I work a part-time job and I just scrape by each month because I'm not really qualified to do anything that pays more. If I didn't live at home, I couldn't afford rent or much food. I don't want to go back to school because my dream is to stay at home assuming God sends me a husband and kids one day. So, unless God works something amazing in my life, I'm going to be here for a while.

What state do you live in? I might be able to get someone in contact with you via email. :)

I totally agree. If you move to one of the large trad communities, you will find like minded people!

I would love to move to a community like that! I'll have to have a talk with God about it.
