  • Second Epistle to St. John

His friend Ignatius to John the holy presbyter.

If you will give me leave, I desire to go up to Jerusalem, and see the faithful saints who are there, especially Mary the mother, whom they report to be an object of admiration and of affection to all. For who would not rejoice to behold and to address her who bore the true God from her own womb, provided he is a friend of our faith and religion? And in like manner [I desire to see] the venerable James, who is surnamed Just, whom they relate to be very like Christ Jesus in appearance, in life, and in method of conduct, as if he were a twin-brother of the same womb. They say that, if I see him, I see also Jesus Himself, as to all the features and aspect of His body. Moreover, [I desire to see] the other saints, both male and female. Alas! Why do I delay? Why am I kept back? Kind teacher, bid me hasten [to fulfil my wish], and fare well. Amen.

The Epistle of Ignatius to the Virgin Mary

Her friend Ignatius to the Christ-bearing Mary.

You ought to have comforted and consoled me who am a neophyte, and a disciple of your [beloved] John. For I have heard things wonderful to tell respecting your [son] Jesus, and I am astonished by such a report. But I desire with my whole heart to obtain information concerning the things which I have heard from you, who was always intimate and allied with Him, and who was acquainted with [all] His secrets. I have also written to you at another time, and have asked you concerning the same things. Fare well; and let the neophytes who are with me be comforted of you, and by you, and in you. Amen.

Reply of the Blessed Virgin to this Letter

The lowly handmaid of Christ Jesus to Ignatius, her beloved fellow disciple.

The things which you have heard and learned from John concerning Jesus are true. Believe them, cling to them, and hold fast the profession of that Christianity which you have embraced, and conform your habits and life to your profession. Now I will come in company with John to visit you, and those that are with you. Stand fast in the faith, 1 Corinthians 16:13 and show yourself a man; nor let the fierceness of persecution move you, but let your spirit be strong and rejoice in God your Saviour. Luke 1:47 Amen.

Then it behooves you to read the literature and resources that have been presented to you carefully, and ponder thereon in a spirit of prayer and recollection; a prerequisite for which is to take a break from the internet and put into practice in your everyday life the commandments of Our Lord by means of self-abnegation, acts of piety and penance, examination of conscience, and the faithful performance of your duties of state.

With prayer and works of penance you can attain to the grace of greater faith. Ignoring this will make Google searches and endless queries into occasions of peril for your soul.
Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

You have already been advised the proper way to approach you inquiries from your Protestant vantage point. Stop filling up the GD (General Discussion) forum with a thousand theological questions, it's coming off as very troll-like at this point.

Another thing, this is a traditional Catholic board, when you refer to our Lord's mother, you respectively do so by honoring her as such.

Using the proper titles as Blessed Mother or BVM or Our Lady.

Your frequent usage of the generic "Mary" is not appreciated by trad Catholics who hold  her in high esteem. Tone it down a little. This is not a gathering of Southern Baptists at the John Birch Society or something.

I'm not a moderator but I have been observing a pattern here.

I apologize if this comes off a little harsh.

But the disrespect the Prots have for our Lady never sit well with me.

OP, please take note of this comment.  How do you think Our Lord would react to the casual attitude Protestants take toward His Mother?   You refer to her in the same manner that one would a casual friend.  I doubt you would refer to the president's wife as "Michelle," yet you extend this attitude toward the Mother of Christ.

For Catholics, it is one of many indicators that Protestants have a difficult time with humility, because they insist on esteeming themselves at the same level as the Blessed Mother.

    No, it's called humility.

    Quote from: Luke 1: 46-48
46 And Mary said: My soul does magnify the Lord. 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 Because he has regarded the humility of his handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
