It is a tradition for the president to 'pardon' a couple of turkeys at the White House & allow them to live out their lives at a farm.

Today Obama & his two daughters gathered in front of the press to 'pardon' a turkey.  I couldn't hear what Obama said, but he waved his hands a bit in the direction of the birds as if pardoning them, then talked a bit to the man in charge of Popcorn the lucky bird.  

Obama then turned again to the turkeys & I am positive I saw him make the sign of the cross over the bird as if to 'bless' it!!

So now we have a pope who waves to the crowd instead of blessing them  and
 a non-Catholic president who gives a blessing to a bird after waving a pardon!

We live in an upside down world!   ( I watched the news twice to see if in fact he make the sign of the cross & both times he did.  You just have to watch a few seconds after he pardons Popcorn & talks.  Then he makes the sign of the cross.)
