The "delete function", basically a way to hide specific posts (rather than specific posters, like the Ignore function), has been disabled.

It only hides posts on a per-user basis. So if roscoe clicks "delete" on a post, it will no longer appear for him, but everyone else can still see it.

I think a person can still click "delete", but the software no longer checks each post to see if it's been "deleted" by that user. That's where all the "work" is.

The more database work that has to be done, the more server resources CathInfo uses. For a while that was an issue. It still might be.

It's important to me to keep CathInfo able to run on an average webhosting account (rather than renting its own server!) because I don't want to pass the hat, or the plate, around begging for money like Catholic Answers or Fisheaters.

It seems like everyone wants your money these days. And let's face it -- there's just not enough of it as it is! At least for those with families, but not exclusively.
