  • I am very familiar with how bad guys do their thing, and it's very frustrating.

When confronted with valid, pertinent questions, they EVADE and change teh subject rather than deny truths outright -- and when they do deny, its with a strategy of "repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth."

That isn't going to fly here on CathInfo.

I can't control the behavior/lies of the government, the FDA, Monsanto, Congress, or the Mainstream Media. But I *can* squash such garbage here on my own forum.

  • What are the advantages and risks of a Monarchy, versus other forms of government?

Well, the risk is that if you get a bad king, you're screwed.

BUT...if you get a good king -- a God-fearing king -- then the forces of evil are pretty much screwed until he dies.

Well that's the situation here on CathInfo.

It's very, very difficult for evil to gain ground during the reign of a good king. When you have a congress/parliament you can buy out individual members, and get them to vote for bad things.

When you have a "board of directors", you can do the same thing.

But when all power is in the hands of one man, you have to either A) corrupt/bribe him, or B) if he can't be corrupted, then wait X years and bide your time until he is out of the picture!

So it's just too bad for the bad guys, in the case of CathInfo.

  • Nice, Matthew. Monarchy is good... and a God-fearing king is ultimate good. Its like something being hot or cold, not lukewarm. A bad king, cold; we're screwed until hes gone. But a good king, hot. Lukewarm aka what we have today, is the worse. But no worries, God will spit it out in due time, not that He hasn't already begun doing so.

  • Your Majesty,

Could you perhaps give your humble vassals a little mote idication of what behaviors are attracting your royal attention?

  • To Sigismund (et al):

I meant to follow up my post, and now I see that I should have. I wanted to add:

Not that I see myself as a king, or in any grand position -- more like the mayor of a small hick town :)

But the analogy still holds. My point was that undivided authority can be a very good thing when the "authority holder's" heart is in the right place with God.

I've said this in the past, and I have to repeat myself...

I have written rules in place for CathInfo, but sometimes I have to act in the best interests of CathInfo -- even if that means banning someone who hasn't broken any rules.

You see, there are people who will make sure to read all the rules and follow them, and then "work their evil" well within the framework.  These are the worst evil-doers.

Just like in the movie world, it isn't pornography that does most of the damage -- because many people avoid porn and movies rated NC-17. It's the rated "PG", "PG-13" and "R" movies with subtle errors like "Every woman should work", "Women are just like men", "Men are idiots", "Religion doesn't matter", etc.

It's the subtle errors that kill!

Let's see...are the producers in Hollywood able to be arrested right now? No. They are breaking no laws currently on the books. But are they doing *everything they can* to lower American culture, instill vice in both young and old, and lead as many souls as close to hell as possible? Of course they are!

Ideally, a Catholic "King of the United States" would see through their games and throw them all in jail. They would ask, "What law did I break?"

It seems you're more like the king of a small hick town. :)
It would be comparatively easy for us to be holy if only we could always see the character of our neighbours either in soft shade or with the kindly deceits of moonlight upon them. Of course, we are not to grow blind to evil
