  • What's sounding like an awesome Catholic film, is coming out soon. Watch the trailer here. I cried in the first 15 seconds.

  • It looks like the film got supplemental funds for their production from the Mexican government.

And what do you know, it's starring Eva Longoria!  :tv-disturbed: Ironic, huh?

Meanwhile, it looks like Mel Gibson just finished shooting a new movie called "How I Spent My Summer Vacation". Loser.

  • One of the things I worry about is that this film will also contain things that go against the Faith.  There will probaly be a nude scene and I am sure that the Lord's Name will be taken in vain at least a few times.  This is just my opinion, but anything that comes out of Hollywood is usually tainted, at least a little, with things that go against out Faith.  Beware of wolves in sheep clothing.

  • Speaking of Mel Gibson, I was reminded of Braveheart during that trailer.

The guy on horseback, standing before his army giving a rousing speech on the eve of battle -- about how they will have FREEEDOOMMM!!!  or die trying.
Oh yeah, vivaChristorey and all that....mumble mumble....

That's how Hollywood does it -- they throw enough "bones" (props, characters, religious elements, "Viva Christo Rey", etc.) to keep everyone happy, while totally distorting what a struggle was about. They re-cast things in a modern light, with modern world values, etc.

Most struggles end up being re-cast as being about freedom -- you know, Liberty, Fraternity, Equality -- one of those three.

How can it be surprising though. It's a fact that Jєωs run Hollywood, and who INVENTED Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ? The Jєωs.

  • I'm skeptical. The trailer stinks of Hollywood. And the movie will surely be soaked in wretched sentimentality, in accord with today's Oprahism.

However, I may yet see it simply to watch the excellent Peter O'Toole.

That's actually what first came to my mind when one of the characters mentioned "freedom". If it is who I think it is, then I wouldn't be surprised. Not all of the Cristero leaders were Crusaders. There were some bad apples. The generalisimo Enrique Gorostieta was a 33rd degree Mason before the Cristeros hired him.
