In front of the blessed sacrament today I found it difficult to pray, but persevered nonetheless. It is usually custom to stay for one hour. While I was there I was with only one person who spoke to me ( among other things) about how she was waiting for someone to stay in front of the sacrament since her time was finished. I eventually said I would stay if she wanted to go and would wait until someone comes.
For all I knew, I could be there for hours, but then someone came and they came at exactly one hour after I got there. It was not the beginning of an hour but some random time, but it was a strange coincidence.
Since we had spoken before the exposed sacrament, I asked her to stay until I recited Tantum Ergo Sacramentum for respect's sake.
What is the meaning of this?
Was God displeased with me and so would have me leave his presence as soon as possible?
Or was He saying that he demands no extra ordinary suffering of me?
Or something else?
