  • This is Matthew posting from Mater's computer --

We got up this morning because Miriam woke up crying (for whatever reason)... and decided to go to the early Mass (7:30 AM)

But then Jennifer started having regular contractions that won't seem to go away, no matter if she's sitting, standing, or laying down...

Today she's 4 days "past due", so we know what this could mean.

Anyhow, we ask for your prayers, because Jennifer had our first 2 babies c-section.  We know that midwives are better at delivering, but still -- our babies tend to be 8 lb. 15 oz. minimum.

We'll let you know how it goes -- probably after the fact.

As an aside -- Is there any connection between St. Bridget and the Holy Ghost? Besides the obvious "love of God"?

    God bless,

    Matthew

  • Saint Bridget of Sweden is not the same as St. Brigid of ireland, is she?

As far as I know St. Brigid of Ireland was keeper of the sacred fire at a pagan temple untill God gave her the true fire of his love. It looks like the story of pentecost and the fire of Holy ghost.

  • Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Thanks to the grace of God, the skill of 2 midwives, and her own heroic efforts, Jennifer succeeded in having her first normal delivery -- Bridget Catherine was born at 2:52 PM today, and weighed in at almost 10 pounds! (9 lbs. 15 oz).

Bridget is very healthy and energetic, and Jennifer is beginning the (hopefully short) road to recovery after such an ordeal.

    God bless,

    Matthew
