If you get a short text message about "Your request timed out. Please repeat the request." when you try to post, edit a post, etc. here is all you have to do:

Hit <F5> to "refresh".

It will ask you if you want to re-post the data (or something like that). Click YES by all means, and your post will be saved!

It's happened to me twice this morning, but I didn't lose one letter of any of my posts, following the technique above.

Edit: Make that three times. I had to follow my own advice as I created this topic!

Apparently there are some widespread Internet problems going on. Maybe it's all just a coincidence.

I'm not getting server timeouts. My browser said there's too many redirects....don't know why it's doing that. It never did that before. But it might help to know that whenever I click on a topic, that's what it's telling me.

The entire server is set to be upgraded in about 5 or 6 days.

HOPEFULLY that will bring an improvement.

I've been getting those server timeouts. I was wondering what was going on.

Getting those "server timeouts" has been occurring frequently in my experience. I did not bother to re-post several items because of them. The best thing to do before pressing "send," is simply copy what's been written. Then paste it in on a subsequent post. It usually works the second time.

That would be when they apologize for losing the database.

Me too. Still get the error, ever after refreshing with F5.
