  • If you were confirmed in the novus ordo, do you need to be confirmed in the traditional form?

Has anyone here been confirmed in the novus ordo and confirmed through the SSPX afterwards? Or do you know anyone who has?

What if you are not sure whether or not your confirmation in the novus ordo was valid?

  • Well, it depends on whether you think NO sacraments are valid.  It is my understanding that the SSPX thinks they are, unless there is some specific reason to doubt it in a particular case.  If your confirmation was administered according to the NO form correctly and runrically, there is no reason that I can see t hat the SSPX would question it.  SV groups are an entirely different matter.

  • My daughter was just confirmed a bit over a month ago by the SSPX, and right on the form, it asks you if you would like to be conditionally confirmed, meaning, that you doubt the validity of the previous reception of the sacrament (presumably through the Novus Ordo.)
