  •   I wonder if anyone else here has a little hard time
taking their children to Holy Communion.  I know
my younger Autism son wants to crawl instead of
walking. Usually he wants to be held or wants his
older brother next to him.  Lately he seems to be
more independent and bumps close to the pews.
I hope i can keep him safe. so far he is alright. The
Latin Mass Chapel has the childrens room outside so
you walk out side to go around to the front. It lets you
see the altar in front and is connected to the back of
    the Church and the upstairs.

  • HS, are you taking your child to receive communion or do you need to bring your child with you to receive communion yourself?  The reason I ask is that my autistic son can not receive, and my husband and I have an arrangement where one of us is always with our autistic son in the pew.  We usually sit toward the back of the church and I get in line for communion when the first few pews are ushered to receive.  Then, my husband receives when our pew is ushered to receive, by then I am already back, sitting with our family again so I can stay with our son.  Hope that makes sense.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.

  • As far as a stroller is for the younger . In a single on maybe ,
it is quite a hassle since he has outgrown ours at home. I do
not mind the idea. It is he needs to walk and i do not want
him being a baby anymore. He puts a fight up on many things.

  • You really have your hands full, HS. Do you have anyone who might be able to sit with your child while you go to Holy Communion? Have you spoken to the priest? He may have a suggestion of some motherly person who would be able and willing to mind him in the seat.

Also, I wonder if you have considered that your children might be helped through diet. I don't know a lot about it but I've heard that allergies can be an important factor and that certain diets can be helpful.

God bless you for the great work you are doing.
