Edit: Just received a message from one of the readers. It looks like "Father Guestmaster" has announced that the retreat is cancelled. This is a good time for an analogy. Sometimes you can apply topical ointment to a festering patch of skin, or give pain killers, but those things won't necessarily address the underlying condition.

That is a really excellent analogy.

I was discouraged by many of the credulous responses at Rorate when the administration e-mailed New Catholic to tell him the retreat was closed down.

The one sponsoring the retreat, Fr. Bob, is a hardened ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ activist whose organization apparently has the self-assigned mission to marry ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity disturbed individuals.

They'll probably have the retreat anyway. Apparently it's $240 to register, and women from the neighboring girl's college will be included for $100.
