Since when did High Speed Internet become like Viagra?
« on: June 20, 2018, 10:02:28 AM »
I always thought broadband Internet was a legit utility, like phone, cable TV, DSL, cable Internet, etc.

But in my area, at least, it seems that the most common way of advertising High Speed Internet service is small, unprofessional signs planted (illegally) in various intersections, in neighborhoods, stapled to phone poles, etc.

What gives?

Who buys their Internet (something you give a credit card number for, and pay upwards of $50 every single month!) out of the back of a truck? That's crazy!

If they can't advertise like a legit business, I steer clear!

Does Viagra really advertise like that in your neighborhood?  I'd be more worried about that than a yard sign for fiber optics.

There are a lot better ways to advertise than telephone poles and intersections;

Years ago in a Los Angeles neighborhood I was living in a house that apparently was one of many in the area that received a flyer advertising a clinic's abortion services and the flyer actually offered a discount (I think it was 10%) if you brought in the flyer!
