  • My mother was telling me that their is some bill to be voted on in Missouri that will enable them to make some house of horrors holding cloned humans to use for harvesting organs. She said Raymond Arroyo of EWTN had a program on this. THe bishops are speaking out, however the bill is wording so that if you vote no, you are against it the words are so twisted no means yes. Have you heard of this??

    Not true.

    Here is the text of the proposal in Missouri.

    ___________________________________

    Plain Language Explanation:
    This amendment will allow Missouri patients and researchers access to any method of stem cell research, therapies and cures permitted under federal law. It also will set limits on any stem cell research, therapies and cures, including banning human cloning or attempted cloning. Violators will be subject to criminal and civil penalites.
    Official Ballot Title:

    Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to allow and set limitations on stem cell research, therapies, and cures which will:

    Ensure Missouri patients have access to any therapies and cures, and allow Missouri researchers to conduct any research, permitted under federal law;

    Ban human cloning or attempted cloning; (emphasis by me)

    Require expert medical and public oversight and annual reports on the nature and purpose of stem cell research;

    Impose criminal and civil penalties for any violations; and

    Prohibit state or local governments from preventing or discouraging lawful stem cell research, therapies and cures?

  • Did you see the program on EWTN in which Raymond Arroyo and the Bishop were speaking of these things. By the way my mother in NeoCath to and not at all like me in her thinking. For her to become this upset she had to have heard something.

  • By not true, I was referring to "My mother was telling me that their is some bill to be voted on in Missouri that will enable them to make some house of horrors holding cloned humans to use for harvesting organs." Which is over the top.

    Now, the intricacies put forth in the sites you provided, I'll leave for the good follows of Missouri to sort out.
