Does anyone know where I could find this information? I have heard that the Church has always opposed revolutions and deposing/taking over governments and things of that nature, but I'd like to read more about it.
For instance, my country (Nicaragua) is going through a violent and bloody revolution right now that was started by the government, and when it started, university students of a couple of universities took over their respective universities because the police started to shoot them while they were protesting peacefully against the unjust law that started it all. They were simply marching in the streets and nothing else, but the police unleashed a brutal repression which has escalated into almost 400 people having being killed since April 18th of this year.
The whole country is in protest now and protests could be seen almost in every town in the country, so the police, paramilitaries and paid government thugs started repressing anyone that was protesting (peacefully!), so the people decided to set up barricades in many towns to prevent the police and their thugs to get in easily to attack.
Things have gotten so bad that some places are literal war zones, except that the people don't have real guns, but home made mortars and bombs, while the police and the rest of the thugs are armed to the teeth, with machine guns and RPG-7's even.
So in a situation like this, would one be justified in going out there and fighting the government in the barricades? If I had a bunch of guns, I could go there and start shooting and fighting, but then I think about the Cristero War situation and I'm not so sure about it.
